The Church Council reviews the constitution for possible updates and changes as
issues or concerns arise. These may include changes to wording or updating
certain sections of the Constitution to fit into the current times.
When changes to the Constitution are proposed, the Council will send the proposed
changes to all members of Windsor UCC no later than early December of the year
before the annual meeting. In addition, a special meeting may be called to present
the changes. Members will be advised to submit feedback to the Council prior to
the (December or January) Council meeting for discussion and possible
modifications. If further changes are made based on the feedback, those will be
sent out to the congregation.
During the annual meeting, the congregation will be asked to vote on the proposed
changes to the Constitution. During the annual meeting, no new or further changes
will be accepted.
If additional changes to the Constitution are suggested at the annual meeting, those
must be submitted to the Council in writing. The Council will then discuss and
make approved changes to the Constitution for review at the next year’s annual
meeting or a special meeting called by the Council. This proposal is being
implemented so that all members can have adequate time to review proposed
changes and submit any comments to the Council.
